Public Works Maintenance – Full‑Time Seasonal Summer
JOB DESCRIPTION
:
The position is responsible for performing manual labor and semi‑skilled maintenance tasks – including landscaping, grass mowing, tree and shrub maintenance, custodial work, planting, painting, garbage removal, and maintenance of pavement and paths.
QUALIFICATIONS
:
Must be over 18 and have general experience related to landscape and yard maintenance. A valid State of Illinois Driver’s license with a good driving record is required. Applicants should have a general understanding of mowing, trimming, and the operation of basic power tools. Must be able to work independently or as part of a team and have good communication skills.
The selected applicants will be required to pass a pre‑employment physical. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
HOURS
:
Monday to Friday, 7 am to 3:30 pm (40 hours per week) – $17 per hour. Start/End dates to be negotiated, approximately 12 weeks. The season typically starts near the end of May.
