Overview

The Department of Vermont Health Access (DVHA) is seeking a Financial Manager II to join its 14-person Business Office in the Analytics Unit.
This position is located in the state office complex in Waterbury. A successful candidate will recognize and implement best practices for business office operations and internal controls to benefit DVHA. Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, are heavily relied upon; intermediate or advanced skills in these programs is preferred. Familiarity with Tableau and the ability and desire to learn new software is preferred.

Candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position. Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in accounting or a bachelor's degree in any discipline that includes or is supplemented by 20 credit hours in accounting AND two (2) years or more of professional level accounting, budgeting, fiscal auditing, fiscal analysis, federal program fiscal administration or other professional level fiscal operations experience which has included experience managing programs, funding sources or staff.

Bachelor's degree in any discipline AND four (4) years or more of professional level accounting, budgeting, fiscal auditing, fiscal analysis, federal program fiscal administration or other professional level fiscal operations experience which has included experience managing programs, funding sources or staff.
- OR
Associate's degree AND six (6) years or more of professional level accounting, budgeting, fiscal auditing, fiscal analysis, federal program fiscal administration or other professional level fiscal operations experience which has included experience managing programs, funding sources or staff.
- OR
High School diploma AND eight (8) years or more of professional level accounting, budgeting, fiscal auditing, fiscal analysis, federal program fiscal administration or other professional level fiscal operations experience which has included experience managing programs, funding sources or staff.
- OR
One year as a Financial Manager I with the State of Vermont.
- OR
Certification as a CPA.
Special RequirementsFor some positions experience working with the VISION system (VISION is the State of Vermont People Soft financial management system) may be required.
