Group Home Supervisor (Multi-Site, Flexible Role)

NAFI Connecticut provides programs, consultation, and support services in a variety of settings across Connecticut, New York, and Rhode Island. We work with adults, children, and families to increase communication and social skills, improve relationships, increase circles of support, and provide therapeutic services based on best-practice research. We believe that people can change, and we work to empower each individual in their own care.

We are seeking a flexible, dynamic Group Home Supervisor who thrives in a role where no two days are the same. This is a "utility player" position, supporting two group homes located in Prospect and New Britain, CT. You'll move between programs as needed, helping to maintain strong operations, support staff, and ensure a positive, consistent culture across both sites. Most hours will be evenings and weekends, with flexibility based on program needs.

This role is ideal for someone who:

  • Enjoys variety and problem-solving.
  • Is highly adaptable and team-oriented.
  • Is passionate about staff development, coaching, and culture-building.
  • Wants to make a meaningful impact across multiple programs.

NAFI CT's two DCF-funded therapeutic group homes for adolescent males provide a structured, supportive environment for youth with developmental, behavioral, and trauma-related needs. Each home offers 24/7 supervision, trauma-informed care, and skill-building support within a small, community-based setting. The goal is to help youth develop stability, independence, and the skills needed for successful transitions back to family or community living.

The Group Home Supervisor plays a key part in ensuring the success of both the youth and the staff who support them by:

  • Supervising and supporting direct care staff, including onboarding, coaching, and performance evaluations.
  • Providing hands-on leadership, stepping in to support coverage when needed.
  • Developing staff skills through training, mentorship, and real-time feedback.
  • Maintaining a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment for clients.
  • Overseeing daily operations, including scheduling and shift coordination.
  • Promoting and sustaining a positive program culture and team dynamic.
  • Supporting implementation of treatment/service plans and providing direct client support when needed.
  • Facilitating or participating in group programming and skill-building activities.
  • Ensuring accurate documentation, communication, and use of agency systems.
  • Responding to crises using approved interventions and protocols.
  • Transporting clients safely as needed.

Our Exceptional Benefits:

  • Generous paid time off.
  • 3-6 weeks' vacation, 7 sick days, and 11 paid holidays each year.

Employee Health and Wellness:

  • Comprehensive and affordable medical, dental, prescription, and vision coverage (Reimbursements for fitness, weight loss, and holistic health programs).
  • No-cost employee assistance program.
  • Voluntary employee-focused wellness programs.

Retirement and Financial Planning:

  • Company matching 403b and no-cost retirement consulting.
  • Company paid for life Insurance and long-term disability.
  • Public service loan forgiveness.
  • Insurance, including accident, hospital indemnity, and supplemental Life.
  • Pet Insurance.
  • Tuition reimbursement:
    Includes licensure fees, professional memberships.

…and much more!

Desired

Qualifications:

  • Education (Required):
    High School Diploma, (Preferred):
Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • Experience (Required): 1–4 years of relevant experience (residential or direct care strongly preferred).
