DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

While there are various responsibilities that will be listed below, the number one responsibility of this role is to set up the campus student pastor to win. The main goal of this role is to help the student pastor win on the campus, with parents, with volunteers, and with students.

  • Serve the Prosper campus as a whole, starting with the student ministry, but also helping with other departments as needed. Caring for families with hospital visits, being present in the office for coworkers, leading at Connect Track, helping with funerals, and other various campus needs.
  • Wednesday Service - foster a creative, fun, safe & engaging environment for students to attend weekly services k with the student pastor to oversee all Wednesday night activities for students at your campus:
    • Worship experience
    • Hosting first-time guests
    • Service Programming
    • Lobby Environment
    • Small group leader support
    • Big event services
    • Prepare and communicate messages as needed
  • Recruit and retain volunteers to connect middle school and high school students in thriving small groups.
    • Lead adult volunteers to grow spiritually and learn effective ways to minister to students
    • Onboarding new volunteers
    • Train current volunteers
    • Evaluate and coach volunteers
    • Care for volunteers
    • Support and grow the connection team volunteers
  • School Ministry - Increase the campus's presence in area schools by partnering with FCAs, sports teams, teachers, principals, bands, theater teams, etc. Lead small group leaders to have a presence at the schools that their students attend.
  • Weekend Middle School Groups - This is a weekly Biblical engagement environment that happens during the weekend services. Aid the campus student pastor as they need by facilitating, organizing, and running Sunday middle school groups. Help lead students to grow in their theology of God and understanding of the Bible through weekly Bible studies in middle school groups. Grow the volunteer team as needed on the weekends in this environment.
  • Connect with parents of students to better care for the family as a whole, as well as encourage parents to better connect at Hope.
  • Work with the student pastor to make the 5th grade to 6th grade transition time smooth and clear for students and parents.
  • Work with central teams and campus teams to encourage students to volunteer at Hope in various areas, including Hope Kids, Connections, Worship, Production, etc.
  • Serve with other departments such as children’s ministry, grow, and connections (as needed).
  • Helping centrally with the student department as needed with mission trips, summer camps, student conferences, and other various areas.
  • Work within the systems for First Time Guest follow-up, weekly Planning Center scheduling and confirmations, as well as other centrally designed systems to make the work excellent and more efficient, so that more time can be spent with people at Hope.

  • Possesses strong interpersonal skills, is humble, gentle, and respectful of others. Is hard working, teachable, fun-loving, dedicated, and loyal.
  • Possesses and applies basic knowledge of MAC applications, including but not limited to;
    Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.
  • Ability to react appropriately under pressure, apply good judgment, use sound decision-making & problem-solving skills in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Possesses strong organizational skills, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities & meet expected deadlines.
  • Can prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously with an orientation toward accomplishment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (written and oral) with various individuals throughout the church.
  • Ability to handle confidential matters discreetly and efficiently.
  • Flexible in work schedule; i.e. camps, trips, and weekend events.
  • Plan, organize, and execute large events.
  • Ability to organize event task lists and the ability to delegate tasks to others.
