Relationship Banker I – First United Bank

The Relationship Banker will serve as the single point of contact for customers and will be responsible for a variety of duties that support customer relationships, product knowledge, and banking operations.

• Maintain a basic knowledge of First United Bank products, services, procedures, policies and regulatory issues such as the Bank Secrecy Act, Privacy, Fair Lending, Regulation E, and related deposit, transaction, and loan accounts.
• Follow proper procedures accurately and efficiently for all customer-servicing activities.
• Retain existing customers and develop new customer relationships.
• Serve as customers' single point of contact for all First United Bank products and services.
• Consistently meet and often exceed performance goals and actively participate in sales campaigns.
• Participate in meetings, bank functions, and community events as requested.
• Consistently meet customer service expectations by offering excellent service, including greeting customers, smiling, using their name, and building rapport.
• Identify and match customer product needs by interviewing customers and discussing their financial needs, including making referrals to other staff members and departments.
• Open new accounts, certificates of deposit, and other ancillary products offered by the bank; answer customer questions and ensure proper paperwork.
• Assist customers with routine questions and requests: balance inquiries, temporary statements, check copies, stop payments, holds, online banking, ACH, automatic funds transfer, direct deposit, wire processing, coin processing, notary services, and privacy.
• Process a variety of transactions quickly with minimal or no errors in accordance with First United Bank policies and procedures.
• Maintain appropriate drawer limits, perform cash verifications, and vault duties; verify all transactions and place holds as appropriate.
• Resolve customer complaints, problems, or other issues and review and resolve account issues listed in daily reports.
• Perform security functions by opening and closing the bank and vault, and ensuring overall safety and security of bank grounds.
• Master the Primary Purpose and Essential Duties of the Relationship Banker I position.

Employee Specifications:

• High school diploma strongly preferred; some college preferred.
• One year of retail experience preferred; cash handling experience preferred.
• Superior customer service skills required.
• Basic mathematics to solve problems.
• Requires high accuracy with daily work.
• Ability to read, write, speak and communicate with customers and co-workers.
• Time management and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
