Job Description
The cashier role involves managing all transactions with customers in a friendly and efficient manner, ensuring pricing accuracy and providing a positive customer experience.
Responsibilities- Managing transactions using a cash register and product scanner
- Accepting payments (cash, credit, or check) and providing receipts
- Balancing the cash register
- Scanning goods and ensuring pricing and quantities are accurate
- Providing change and receipts
- Issuing coupons, vouchers, stamps, and gift cards
- Processing returns and refunds and resolving customer complaints
- Bagging and wrapping purchased goods for safe transport
- Greeting customers when entering and leaving the premises
- Upselling and cross-selling when appropriate
- High school degree or equivalent
- Experience with POS systems and cash registers
- Basic computer knowledge
- Good math skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to effectively resolve complaints
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Previous experience is an advantage
