Summary
This position will assist the Accounting Manager with day‑to‑day accounting, month‑end close on all entities, balance sheet and income statement account analysis and reconciliations, and month‑end reporting for Charter
CARE and its affiliates. The role requires strong analytical skills, problem solving, and the ability to apply learning to resolve issues. Responsibilities include completing a timely and accurate month‑end close, monthly reconciliations and analysis, understanding not‑for‑profit accounting and net asset reporting, completing 990 and subsidiary tax returns for assigned CCHP hospitals and affiliates, assisting with cash and intercompany transaction management, preparing for audits, and supporting both internal and external financial reporting requirements.
The role works closely with the Budget and Financial Analysis group to track and report against budgets and assists with projects and the annual budget. The Senior Accountant will have direct responsibility for specific balance sheet and income statement accounts across multiple CCHP and affiliated entities and support the Accounting Manager with a timely month‑end close and financial analysis of CCHP and affiliates.
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required.
ExperienceThree to five years’ experience preferred. Experience in healthcare preferred but not required. Strong computer, analytical, and problem‑solving skills required. Must demonstrate ability to work independently to resolve issues and collaborate with finance employees to achieve change and continuous improvement processes.
