Senior Accountant – Affordable Housing

Salary:
$100,000 to $120,000 base + bonus

Senior Accountant – Affordable Housing Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee accounting for multiple affordable housing development and rehabilitation projects

• Manage project-based accounting including job cost tracking and construction budgets

• Prepare and review construction draws, requisitions, and lender reporting packages

• Track and reconcile funding sources including LIHTC equity, soft debt, and public grants

• Lead monthly project closes and prepare detailed financial reporting

• Support year-end audits and coordinate with external auditors and tax preparers

• Partner with development, property management, and joint venture stakeholders on financial performance

• Ensure compliance with affordable housing regulatory and reporting requirements

Senior Accountant – Affordable Housing Qualifications:

• BS in Accounting required

• 6+ years of real estate or project-based accounting experience with direct exposure to affordable housing

• Strong understanding of LIHTC structures and affordable housing funding sources preferred

• Experience with construction draws, development accounting, and multi-entity reporting

• Proficiency in Excel required

• Experience with MRI, Yardi, or similar real estate accounting systems preferred

• Detail-oriented with strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
