We're partnering with a respected nonprofit organization in the Providence area to identify an experienced Controller to lead its accounting and financial reporting functions. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on accounting leader who enjoys supporting a mission‑driven organization while partnering closely with executive leadership.

The Controller will oversee the day‑to‑day accounting operations, ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, manage the audit process, and help strengthen financial processes and internal controls.

• Oversee the organization's accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, payroll, and monthly close
• Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Lead the annual audit and coordinate with external auditors
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, nonprofit accounting standards, and applicable grant and regulatory requirements
• Monitor internal controls and recommend process improvements
• Support leadership with financial analysis and strategic decision‑making
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)
• 5+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience
• Nonprofit accounting experience strongly preferred
• Experience with audits, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls
• Knowledge of grant accounting and restricted funds is a plus
• Strong ERP/accounting software proficiency
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
