About The OpportunityThe Office of the Registrar is dedicated to providing service of the highest caliber to all constituents – current and former students, faculty, administrative staff, and the general public. This role supports the Registrar’s Office by handling front‑line service functions related to transcripts, enrollment and degree verifications, matriculation, and registration transactions.
Responsibilities- Complete a wide range of front‑line service functions including production of transcripts and enrollment and degree verifications.
- Manage matriculation processes and communicate with non‑degree students.
- Assist with processing of registration transactions and grade changes as needed.
- Respond quickly and accurately to internal and external data requests and provide general assistance throughout the Registrar’s Office as directed by management.
- Associate’s Degree and at least two years of professional office experience, preferably in a university setting. An equivalent combination of education and work experience is acceptable.
- Listen effectively to inquiries and direct them to appropriate individuals or offices.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to multitask.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including patience, tact, good judgment, and a courteous demeanor even in difficult situations.
- Ability to learn and explain the complexities of the Brown curriculum accurately.
- Work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient with computer applications (Banner, Word, Excel, Cognos reporting tools).
- Quickly learn and navigate student database systems and external web applications such as the National Student Clearinghouse.
- Handle multiple tasks and deadlines specific to the position; willing to assist with clerical tasks on an as‑needed basis.
- Appreciate and handle confidential information on a daily basis.
Criminal and education verification will be conducted.
Work ScheduleFull‑time, 37.5 hours per week. During the academic year the office operates on a hybrid schedule (three days in the office, two days remote). During the summer, staff may work up to four days a week from home.
