PHIG Operations Support Specialist

SummaryThe Public Health Infrastructure Grant (PHIG) at the Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) is seeking a PHIG Operations Support Specialist to work across three complex strategy areas:
Workforce Development, Foundational Capabilities, and Data Modernization.
- Assist with complex tasks involved in the implementation and administration of the PHIG grant, a unique cross‑cutting funding opportunity that supports all divisions and programs at RIDOH.
- Organize and maintain official electronic files in MS Teams/SharePoint to ensure information is easy to find and cataloged for reference in the future.
- Assist with the purchasing and procurement of goods and services that support the goals of the PHIG grant.
- Study and analyze operational procedures and prepare detailed and comprehensive reports of findings and recommendations.
- Assist with coordination and communication with other states PHIG teams.
- Coordinate the flow of work across PHIG strategy areas and various programs within the agency.
- Track projects through execution and completion, escalating issues that need follow up.
- Attend conferences and meetings on behalf of the executive leadership team and take notes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Superior attention to detail.
- Must be able to multitask and prioritize.
- Flexibility and comfort working as part of a team and independently in a dynamic environment where priorities may shift.
- Strong understanding of government administration, processes, and procedures.
- Must be comfortable working in SharePoint.
- Familiarity with JIRA preferred.
- Education gained through successful completion of at least two years of academic study in an accredited institution of higher education.
- Experience gained through employment in a government assisting a high-level official performing complex administrative and supportive tasks involved in the implementation and administration of major projects and programs that had effect on all large divisions, departments or agencies.
