Position Overview
The Box Office Manager oversees daily, evening, and weekend ticketing operations for the Nazarian Center for the Performing Arts and other major campus events. This role manages student staff, ensures accurate financial reporting for all ticketing activity, and maintains box office software and equipment.
Primary PurposeUnder the direction of the Operations Manager, the Box Office Manager manages the daily operation of the Box Office in the NCPA, as well as evening and weekend operations in the NCPA, Event Center, and other signature events on campus. Responsibilities include managing student employee staff, financial accounting and reporting for all box office receivables and payables, and maintaining computerized box office software.
Key Responsibilities- Administer box office management, including working with internal and external users to establish and perform event services.
- Establish, manage, and maintain ticket sales.
- Settle and balance ticket income for distribution to internal and external event producers.
- Create bi‑annual audit, settlement and deposit for all box office accounting.
- Organize and maintain operations of specialized box office software and equipment and coordinate outside support of said software.
- On‑board, train, oversee, and assist in staffing of student workers to staff operations of the spaces in the NCPA, Event Center, and signature events.
- Work ticketed events to ensure smooth operations, including late night and weekend events.
- Assist Operations Manager and Director with budgetary transactions for the Department of College Events and Engagement, including purchase orders, transfers, check requests, and budget tracking.
- Exhibit a high degree of tact and sensitivity, dealing directly with students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members.
- Assist with the planning, coordinating, and implementing annually scheduled special events, including Convocations, Commencement Activities, and other special events as deemed by college administration.
Perform other duties as required.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, supervisory, and customer service skills.
- Excellent accounting and bookkeeping skills.
- Good knowledge of computer software and hardware.
- Working knowledge of computerized ticketing systems.
- Graphic design skills.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (fluent in speaking and writing).

Work ScheduleHours vary with event schedule. Monday – Friday 9:00 am–5:00 pm.
