Business Account Specialist II | Providence, Rhode Island, United States Business Account Specialist II
- Hybrid (Johnston, RI) About the Role Join a dynamic team as a Business Account Specialist II, serving as the primary point of contact for customers seeking electric service solutions. Based in a collaborative, hybrid environment at our Johnston, RI office, you will drive service excellence, manage complex customer requests, and support critical operations in the energy sector. This contract position offers exposure to cross-functional teams and robust career development in customer fulfillment and utility services.

Responsibilities
- Serve as the main liaison for customers, ensuring electric service requests are fulfilled on time and to satisfaction
- Manage, validate, and process non-utility billing/CIAC per policies and tariffs for electric service projects
- Develop design and cost estimates for basic electric service jobs to facilitate construction scheduling
- Process service request contracts to enable timely project completion
- Address complex residential, commercial, or industrial requests, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards
- Build and sustain effective relationships with internal business units to share best practices and challenge operational decisions
- Review and escalate customer issues, providing relevant data for trend analysis and process improvements
- Support team initiatives, including cross-training, process enhancements, reporting, and representing the team in cross-functional meetings
- Promote procedural best practices to optimize customer support and compliance Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience, or high school diploma with 9+ years in an electric/gas, design, construction, or customer service role
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Excel
- Demonstrated customer service expertise, with a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Skilled in data entry and relevant business software
- Strong understanding of electric or gas utility operations and policies Preferred Skills
- Experience supporting electric service projects for RI Energy or similar utility companies
- Familiarity with industry tariffs, non-utility billing, and CIAC processes
- Leadership experience in team support or process improvement initiatives Benefits
