Reports to the Program Manager, Value Analysis & Manager, Purchasing Operations. Split position, 20 hours each area.
SummaryThe Project Lead, Supply Chain Operations and Clinical Value Analysis is responsible for performing various duties and functions in support of value analysis/sourcing/data team. The Project Lead reviews all non-file purchases, gathers information, utilizes current software programs to pull site usage and find like items site relations & follow-up on requests; works with different clinical service lines to determine what products they are using;
manages vendor relations; reviews Med Approved requests; prepares the VA team agenda and meeting minutes; and handles special projects.
- Review & audit all non-file purchases (historical & current) against active contracts & value analysis initiatives.
- Work with clinical teams to understand the clinical reason as to why the new product being requested is clinically superior.
- Determine if item should be added to item file and EPIC or provide suitable product.
- Obtain and verify all item attributes for item load (pricing).
- Determine if item will be stored in the warehouse (set up Par/Replenishment).
- Work closely with the end users to obtain compatible approved product for Purchasing.
- Determine if any other items are purchased within this product line.
- Create financial analysis, utilizing information from the Lifespan system, that will help reduce non-file ordering and product standardization.
- Provide support as a product liaison between the clinical teams, distribution and operations.
- Manage relationships with staff, management, internal customers, and vendors that facilitate smooth flow of services and approved products.
- Utilize Supply Chain tools, files and processes such as E-Procurement and GHX to regularly monitor demand and take necessary steps to maintain accuracy and prevent and/or correct anticipated problems to minimize end user errors.
- Perform all Supply Chain Data Analyst job functions and responsibilities at an advanced level.
- Serve as the facilitator for supply chain value analysis operations with Lifespan; create work plans for each team and manage to team objectives through routine meeting facilitation.
- Assist in the set up of product trials and ensure evaluations are completed ethically, unbiased, and in a professional manner.
- Review Med Approved requests and follow up with requestor on any missing information.
- Determine current items being used within software programs and work with site end users to identify any other purchased items.
- Pull usage and spend on current items for Med Approved requests.
- Do financial comparison of current product compared to requested product.
- Input cost analysis into Med Approved.
- Review consumption of new product if agreed upon site amount.
- Work with VA teams to put together agenda and minutes as needed.
- Work with OR and distribution teams as needed.
- Manage VA critical projects; collaborate and coordinate across the organization.
- Understand service offerings to identify and articulate new business opportunities.
- Proactively identify and manage risks and issues.
- Deliver high quality projects that meet all agreed-upon requirements and ensure high customer satisfaction.
- Plan and conduct communications to ensure stakeholders are involved and expectations are managed.
- Assist other departments on system-wide initiatives related to supply‑chain related products and processes.
- Work closely with the Manager of Purchasing Operations and Manager of Value Analysis on special projects and activities as directed.

Associate’s degree;
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Two years of previous experience in supply chain analytics or equivalent.
- Strong computer skills – prior use with Excel preferred.
- General understanding of supply chain operations.
- Strong communication and reporting skills; interpersonal skills to effectively orient and train users regarding systems, related information requirements and service needs.
- Project management skills including facilitation, prioritization and resource management.

Physical Requirements
Normal office environment with some walking to other areas to investigate and resolve problems, and provide system training. May experience some visual fatigue associated with extended periods at a computer terminal.
Independent ActionPerforms independently within the department's policies and practices. Refers specific complex problems to the Director when clarification of departmental policies and procedures is required.
