Energy Rating Specialist – Residential New Construction

• Review construction blueprints and plans; generate energy modeling using REM‑Rate/EKOTROPE software.
• Visit sites during construction, collect site data, and perform diagnostic testing, including the use of blower door and duct blaster.
• Collect and produce documentation related to progress, status, and outcome of each project; prepare and submit required documents to verify code compliance, green certification, and rebate eligibility.
• Communicate technical concepts to contractors to support energy efficiency and green specifications.
• Initiate outreach to potential clients to ensure program enrollment goals are met; enroll clients in the program.
• Work with project teams to establish goals, identify available resources, support projects from initial modeling to final construction, and assist teams with meeting energy‑saving, code‑compliance, and green verification goals; provide technical assistance and training to overcome barriers and secure applicable program incentives.
• Participate in ongoing training and education to build technical knowledge of building science, diagnostics testing, and the latest industry developments.

• College degree in Building Science, Architecture, Engineering, Construction, or related field (field experience may substitute for a degree).
• Experience in residential construction preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to travel around Rhode Island.

Target compensation: $64,000 – $66,000 (depending on experience). Full compensation range: $63,500.00 – $87,900.00 (USD). Salary determined based on internal equity, market data, applicant’s skills and experience.
