Our Northeast Division is a respected, award-winning group that supports diverse civil, environmental, water resources, and traffic/transportation projects in a fast-paced environment. This role is for a Resident Project Representative supporting our Water/Wastewater practice in the Northeast (primarily MA, CT, and RI). The position does not require an office presence but requires proximity to project sites.
Your Responsibilities as a Resident Project Representative:
- Observe and report on the construction of municipal water and wastewater projects, including horizontal construction, new treatment plant construction, and rehabilitation projects.
- Monitor and report contractor adherence to standards, specifications, design drawings, and permits.
- Review contract documents, submittals, RFIs, and other project documentation; provide comments, coordinate review, and record as necessary.
- Observe construction activities to ensure compliance with the contract and site procedures; track activities, review payments, and prepare progress reports.
- Monitor that construction complies with approved current standards and specifications.
- Observe and photograph construction work in progress.
- Note and report improprieties and deficiencies.
- Maintain field log of daily events; track and quantify construction activities.
- Monitor project schedule; coordinate and schedule subconsultants as needed.
- Communicate proactively with all involved parties; formulate written progress reports.
- Observe and record material and equipment tests and equipment startup.
- Review and provide recommendations for submittals, pay estimates, proposed change orders, and documentation for funding and regulatory agencies.
Qualifications and
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline preferred.
- 3+ years of construction/field observation experience.
- EIT/PE certification is a plus.
- Effective communication with engineers, project managers, owners, and contractors’ superintendents.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft applications.
- Knowledge of construction processes, means, and methods.
- Ability to stand and walk for several hours observing field conditions or critical construction operations at active sites.
- Valid driver’s license, good driving history, and reliable transportation are required.

Salary:
Annual expected pay range $85,000 — $105,000 USD.
