Role Description The Construction Project Manager Intern will support the planning and execution of tiny home, cottage, and ADU projects from initial design through final completion. This internship role is based on-site in Providence, RI, and will involve daily coordination with supervisors, trades, and vendors to keep field activities on schedule and within scope. Responsibilities include assisting with project scheduling, monitoring progress on the jobsite, tracking materials and deliveries, and supporting quality and safety checks.

The intern will help document project updates, prepare basic reports, and participate in meetings to address site issues and maintain clear communication among stakeholders. This role offers hands-on experience in construction project workflows, with mentorship from experienced team members.

Qualifications

  • Strong project coordination and general project management skills to support planning, scheduling, and communication.
  • Foundational knowledge of construction project management and construction management processes for residential or small-scale building projects.
  • Basic budgeting and cost tracking skills to assist with monitoring expenses and supporting financial documentation.
  • Interest in tiny homes, cottages, and ADU construction, with willingness to learn building codes, permitting, and site logistics.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate respectfully with diverse team members and vendors.
  • Organized, detail-oriented approach, with the ability to follow instructions and manage multiple tasks in a field environment.
  • Ability to work safely on an active construction site, including standing, walking, and occasional lifting as required.
  • Coursework or a degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is preferred but not required.
