Full‑Time Cardiologist – Specialty Services
VA Providence Healthcare System, in collaboration with the Division of Cardiology at Brown University’s Warren Alpert Medical School, is seeking an academic cardiologist specializing in cardiovascular imaging.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in advanced cardiovascular imaging modalities such as echocardiography and cardiac MRI. This position provides an opportunity to excel in patient care, education, and research while contributing to a vibrant academic environment at VA Providence Healthcare System and Brown University Health. Applicants will be considered for an academic appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor at Brown University based on experience.

- Provide expert care in cardiovascular imaging (e.g., echocardiography, cardiac MRI).
- Engage in both inpatient and outpatient clinical duties.
- Conduct impactful research and publish findings in peer‑reviewed journals.
- Pursue funding opportunities for research.
- Teach and mentor medical students, residents, fellows, and other trainees.
- Develop and deliver educational programs, including lectures and workshops.
- Participate in curriculum development and other educational initiatives.
- Contribute to section goals, strategic planning, and interdisciplinary committees to enhance clinical and research operations.
- Demonstrated excellence in clinical practice with substantial expertise in imaging.
- Passion for, and experience with, teaching and mentoring at all levels.
The position requires:
- US citizenship (Non‑citizens may be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens).
- M.D. or D.O.
- Board certification in Cardiology.
- Full active and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any state.
- Completion of a residency in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
