Position: Physician / Oncology / Rhode Island / Locum tenens
Position Overview:

We have an immediate need for Two (2) locum Hematologists / Oncologists for our veteran population at the VA Medical Center in Providence, RI. These roles offer an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in veterans lives while experiencing the beauty of the Northeast.

Responsibilities:

Obtain medical history, conduct physical examinations, order and evaluate appropriate laboratory testing, and plan and prescribe treatment for patients Approximate clinical load:o 5 hours of inpatient coverage per weeko 26 hours of bookable clinical time per weeko remaining time dedicated to clinical follow-up and other assigned tasks such as tumor board discussion so For bookable clinical time, approximate case load is 2 patients per hour.

Provide discharge education and follow up instructions that are coordinated with the next care setting for all Hematology - Oncology clinical patients Provide notification of test results for patients receiving care

Must have completed a residency and be Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine Medical Oncology Board.

Credentialling and onboarding takes approximately 4-6 weeks.

Monday through Friday 8:00am 4:30pm (excluding federal holidays). Specific clinic times to be identified upon start of assignment On-call hours required
