Hematologist​/Oncologist

This cancer center affiliated with a large hospital system in Providence, Rhode Island is seeking a locum tenens MD specializing in Hematology/Oncology. Clinicians will deliver comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care to adult patients alongside a dedicated clinical support team. The role features Monday through Friday daytime hours with required 1:1 call coverage. This opportunity allows physicians to practice in a dynamic setting with flexible appointment structures and a provided ramp-up period.

• Inpatient and outpatient settings in Providence, Rhode Island
• Clinical support team includes full-time and part-time physicians and office admins
• Clinical documentation managed through paper charting, an EMR system, and Dragon dictation
• Patient population:
  Adults
• Typical consult appointments are 45 minutes and follow-up appointments are 15 minutes

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient and outpatient hematology and oncology coverage on-site
• Conduct inpatient rounding in the latter half of the day
• Manage patient volume ranging from 12 to 20 encounters per day
• Perform typical consult appointments of 45 minutes and follow-up appointments of 15 minutes
• Provide call coverage on a 1:1 rotation, consisting of one week and one weekend per month
• Provide general hematology and oncology treatment
