About The Met

Position Overview

The School Coordinator is an entrepreneurial and creative role that requires the applicant to have a passion for working with students, be willing to learn on the job, and to support the culture of Real World Learning within his/her small school. The School Coordinator will be responsible for managing their schedule and time efficiently, communicate (written and verbally) in all aspects of their work with the staff, and work on selected Met projects, assignments and data entry around the Learning Through Internships (LTI) program.

The role supports a fast‑moving thinker who acts with enthusiasm, optimism and has a direct, assertive style. This person must be a team player who knows how to take initiative. The School Coordinator will communicate frequently on behalf of the principal and will coordinate work efforts with the school staff and the community  School Coordinator must be extremely detail‑oriented, a positive presence, a strong and effective communicator, highly organized, have the ability to multitask and be skilled in computer programs such as MS Office and Google docs (publishing, spreadsheets, etc).

The School Coordinator position encompasses two working modes: clerical and managerial.

Major Responsibilities Facility / Welcome Desk
  • Welcome all guests with friendliness and professionalism
  • Reinforce Visitor/Security Policy – make sure all students and visitors sign‑in
  • Maintain order and beauty in the upstairs and downstairs commons, as well as front desk; in charge of decorations and posters, as well as daily walk‑through
  • Input maintenance requests
  • Maintain copier and copier supplies
  • Maintain and organize supply closet(s)
  • Create and coordinate all visitor schedules
  • Order and distribute supplies for all small school staff
  • Order/purchase awards, gifts, decorations, and other special supplies
  • Keep school supplies organized and accessible on an ongoing basis
  • Assists with guest speakers and supports audio visual equipment when needed
Manage Data
  • Manage Power School data input for attendance, changes of address, breakfast/lunch etc.
  • Coordinate RWL Data on/from call request process. Serve as an expert for staff in the program for the school
  • Collect and file transcripts, narratives, student forms, progress reports, etc.
  • Creates and manages exhibition schedule, parent translation, and Survey works completion
  • Support staff in collecting, organizing, and tracking LTI/project data
  • Track and organize incident reports
  • Track, organize and distribute attendance; work with the social worker to send truancy letters
  • Organize and distribute attendance/truancy letters
  • Supports collection of all end of year data collection including but not limited to summer opportunities, DIBS, mentor surveys, and Chromebook data
Promote Internships / Opportunities
  • Create themed displays to communicate and promote opportunities
  • Coordinate events to connect students with opportunities
  • Coordinate all internship materials/tools for staff distribution, especially for setup and exit meetings
  • Coordinate ongoing small group sessions with students to connect to internship and summer opportunities.
  • Get advisors and students connected quickly to ongoing opportunities that are posted to the Met community
