High School Math Teacher - Precalculus and Calculus
La Salle Academy is a Catholic, coeducational, college preparatory school located in Providence, Rhode Island. Founded in 1871, the academy serves a student body of 1550 students in grades 6 through 12 and aims to educate young men and women from diverse backgrounds with a focus on faith, service, and community.
We are seeking a dynamic and well‑rounded math educator to join our math department. Candidates with experience or academic preparation in Precalculus and Calculus are preferred, along with opportunities to teach elective courses such as Advanced Calculus, Statistics, and Computer Science, based on expertise and student interest. We value teachers who engage students in inquiry‑based learning, foster mathematical curiosity, and build confidence, while differentiating instruction across College Prep and Advanced Placement levels.
Responsibilities- Teach high‑school math courses, including Precalculus and Calculus, following state and national standards.
- Develop engaging lesson plans that incorporate hands‑on activities, real‑world applications, and problem‑solving skills.
- Utilize technology and innovative teaching strategies to enhance student learning.
- Assess and support student progress through differentiated instruction.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum and contribute to the math department.
- Participate in school activities, professional development, and extracurricular programs as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
- Strong background in mathematics.
- Teaching experience in a high‑school math classroom, especially with Precalculus or higher.
- Experience in inquiry‑based math instruction preferred.
- Effective classroom management and communication skills.
- Passion for fostering student engagement, collaborative problem solving, and confidence in mathematical ability.
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
