Position: Full-Time Upper School Math Teacher

Responsibilities

Moses Brown seeks a full-time upper school math teacher, starting in fall 2026. The successful applicant will teach 4 sections of math that may range from algebra one to advanced calculus and beyond. The ability to teach a wide range of topics and ages is desirable, but not required; there is some flexibility in course assignments. An ability to collaboratively develop curriculum is desired.

Working collaboratively with other members of the math department is important to our school culture. Our highly collaborative department prioritizes hands‑on, student‑centered learning as well as responsiveness to a variety of learning strengths and challenges. In addition, teachers work closely with students outside of the classroom during office hours and for occasional extra help outside of these times. As we move away from the AP program as an upper school, subject area specialties or interests that expand our departmental range are welcomed, as we develop courses that appropriately meet the needs and interests of our students.

In addition to the core teaching responsibilities, Moses Brown teachers have yearly co‑curricular and advising responsibilities. Teachers are expected to serve on committees and attend school meetings, some of which take place after school, as well as support the upper school through supervisory and chaperoning assignments. New Upper School faculty shadow an advisory and then lead their own starting in their second year at the school.

Qualifications

Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree from a four‑year accredited institution. Two to five years of teaching experience is preferred, although not a requirement for application. Master’s degree or beyond is desirable.

We seek candidates who are passionate about their desire to teach, advise, and learn from high school students and who have experience supporting students with diverse identities and backgrounds to be confident and skillful math learners. Candidates should be eager to embrace and forward the Quaker mission of the school.

Compensation

Moses Brown offers a competitive compensation and benefits package to our faculty and staff. Compensation is based on the number of years of experience.
