Hours:
8:15 am‑12:45 pm. Pay: $40 /hr (contingent upon enrollment and funding).
Job Description: Under direction of the school principal and/or appropriate supervisor, the Physical Education teacher will provide an Adaptive Physical Education Program to students consistent with their Individual Education Program (IEP).
Education, Training and ExperienceRIDE Requirements: PK‑12 Physical Education, PK‑12 Health, PK‑12 Adaptive.
ESL Preferred.
- Experience working with moderately/severely disabled students.
- Provide gross and fine motor activities to improve gait, balance and coordination.
- Incorporate occupational and physical goals into students' activities.
- Provide opportunities for gross motor activities for children in the ESY program and for all children participating in summer learning opportunities that are held in their assigned school.
- Provide functional gross motor activities such as stairs, incline and decline surfaces.
- Move from smooth to rough textured surfaces.
- Adapt games and activities to students’ abilities.
- Monitor daily student attendance and implement proactive strategies to increase student attendance at ESY.
- Collect, complete and analyze ESY data both as written documentation and input into a web‑based program.
- Commit to work all days of the ESY program.
