Program OverviewRising 7th-9th Grade Math Teachers Summer Learning Program 2026 (Up to 2 positions)
Prep Days (Not PD Days): TBD
Program Dates: July 6, 2026 – July 17, 2026, Monday‑Friday 8:30 am – 3:30 pm
Starting Date: Immediately
Teachers must commit to the entire schedule during the Summer High School Learning Program.
Salary: $40.00 per hour, contingent upon funding
Required Education, Training & ExperienceRIDE Requirements:
- Current/valid RI Teacher Certificate in the appropriate Middle School Math or Secondary Math subject area
- Elementary Education Teacher, Grades 1‑6 Middle Grades Math Teacher
- Grades 5‑8 Secondary Grades
- Math Teacher, Grades 7‑12
ESL certification preferred
Minimum Qualifications Standards- Current/valid RI Teacher Certificate in the appropriate secondary subject area, MLL and/or SPED certifications preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education from an accredited teacher education program
- Prior experience in delivering high‑quality, standards‑based Mathematics, ELA, or STEAM instruction in a fun and engaging manner; urban setting preferred
- Ability to differentiate and scaffold instruction to support and accelerate learning
- Asset‑based view of diverse cultures and a belief in growth mindset
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Create a fun, engaging and safe learning environment for Grade 9 students
- Implement a district summer learning curriculum for Grade 9 students focused on ELA, Mathematics, and Science
- Provide direct service for whole group, small group, and individual instruction based on student needs
- Administer and interpret educational assessments; implement a range of effective math and ELA evidence‑based instructional strategies and interventions
- Differentiate instruction by developing, selecting, and modifying instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students
- Promote a classroom atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of all students
- Monitor and evaluate student outcomes, maintaining appropriate records and following all required procedures and practices
- Participate fully in a professional community including common planning, professional development, and self‑reflection/evaluation
- Supervise students in a range of settings; protect and promote the safety and well‑being of students, colleagues, equipment, materials/facilities
- Communicate and interact appropriately and professionally with students, colleagues, parents, and the community
- Continuously develop and evolve teaching practice and support colleagues in their development
- Must commit to working all days of the program as part of Summer Learning program requirements
- Must commit to attend all professional development days as part of Summer Learning program requirements
