Program: Summer School Sp. Ed. Home Instruction (Up to 20 positions)
Prep Days: June 29-30, 2026
Program Dates: Mon-Thurs July 6-30, 2026
Data Day: July 31, 2026
Hours: As indicated on Student’s IEP
Pay: $40/hr (contingent upon enrollment and funding)
Under the direction of the Executive Director of Specialized Instruction and Services and/or appropriate Manager, the summer home instruction will be provided to special education students in accordance with their IEP needs. The incumbent completes documentation of progress as it relates to IEP goals and objectives, monitors student progress, and documents regression/recoupment data on Power School.
Education, Training, and ExperienceRIDE Requirements:
- Sec. Sp. Ed. 7-12 with Any Sec. Content or
- Mid./Sec. Sp. Ed. 7-12

Minimum Qualifications Standards- Successful experience working effectively with Special education students and their families according to IEP requirements.
- Knowledge and experience working with students with mild/moderate disabilities.
- Extensive coursework and/or experience in the education of mild/moderate including the development of individual educational programs (IEPs) for this population.
- Knowledge of current research and teaching strategies for the mild/moderately disabled.
- Knowledge of current research and teaching strategies for special education students.
- Complete documentation of progress as it relates to IEP goals and objectives.
- Complete summary report to include progress and continued need for skill development.
- Complete any/all duties assigned by the Executive Director of Specialized Instruction and Services.
- Monitor daily student attendance and implement proactive strategies to increase student attendance.
- Collect ESY/Summer data both as written documentation and also input into the web-based program.
- Work with students individually or in small groups to reinforce instruction.
- Provide instruction in accordance with student’s plans as deemed appropriate by the IEP team.
- Document regression data and input documentation into Power School.
