The IACBE‑accredited School of Business at Rhode Island College invites applications for an open rank, tenure‑track faculty position (assistant, associate, or full) with a primary focus in Operations Management. The successful candidate will have a strong interest in teaching in a liberal arts setting and will teach a variety of operations management courses—including operations management, project management, supply chain management, process management, service operation management, and quality assurance—and may also teach other courses in the broader management area.
Responsibilities- Teach three courses each fall and spring term (3‑3 load). Classes have 10–30 students and provide enhanced student interaction.
- Advise up to 30 students in their management programs.
- Engage in scholarly research leading to publication in peer‑reviewed journals.
- Conduct service to the college, department, or profession.
- Good teaching skills.
- Knowledge of operations management, including project, process, service, and supply chain management.
- The ability and enthusiasm to impart this knowledge to undergraduates.
- A willingness to work collegially with other faculty in the School of Business.
Ph.D., D.B.A., or ABD in Operations Management or a related field with a credible plan to complete the dissertation within two years.
Preferred Qualifications- Teaching experience at the college level.
- Industry experience.
- Interest in teaching and researching.
- Ability to teach in‑person, hybrid, or online as directed by the chair or dean of the School of Business.
