To teach the BUS 100 course which prepares students for the college experience, builds professional and technical skills, and introduces students in business careers. Course content includes the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), learning skills such as time management, navigating Blackboard, study skills, and early development of professional skills including communication, customer service, teamwork, and problem‑solving. The course integrates engaging learning modalities such as guest speakers, group activities, and case studies.

Occasional duties include performing other responsibilities as assigned by the Dean, School of Business.
Required Qualifications- Master’s degree in a business discipline.
- Professional experience in business and some college‑level teaching experience.
- Ability to teach Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and an engaging, interactive teaching style that motivates freshmen.
- Knowledge of customer service principles and strong presentation skills.
- Willingness and ability to mentor and coach students.
- Rate per credit hour: $1,602.
- Payment made once monthly; applicable taxes withheld.
- No fringe benefits.
- Not eligible for benefits.
Adjuncts become eligible to join the RIC/AFT Adjunct Union if they complete 6 load hours (excluding applied music) within the two previous consecutive years.
Application Requirements- Candidates must have authorization to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
- Appointment contingent upon successful background screening on selection.
- Upon hire, provide official transcript of highest degree earned.
- Writing sample, teaching evaluations, and/or letters of recommendation are not required at the time of application unless requested directly by the department chair.
