The Early Childhood Pre‑K Teacher is responsible for planning and implementing the classroom curriculum, activities, instructional strategies and classroom management in a RI Pre‑kindergarten funded classroom. Responsibilities include working with a teaching assistant to ensure a rich learning environment that fosters cognitive, physical, social and emotional development of young children; providing individualized approaches to meet diverse learning styles; incorporating authentic assessment practices;
and building a collaborative relationship with families.

Responsibilities- Connecting with children and using positive relationships and supportive interactions.
- Promoting language development through descriptive commenting, active listening and shared conversation control.
- Using developmentally effective approaches to support learning.
- Building meaningful curriculum based on early childhood learning principles.
- Establishing consistent daily routines that provide choice and exploration.
- Observing, documenting and assessing to support young children in collaboration with families.
- Promoting child development and learning in respectful, supportive, and challenging ways.
- Incorporating principles of inclusion for children with special health care needs.
- Supporting positive behavior management, setting limits and using positive redirection.
- Managing the physical environment, maintaining safety and cleanliness and supervising meal/snack protocol.
- Collaborating with families and involving them in child learning.
- Problem solving and taking initiative for classroom needs.
- Planning and documenting work, completing plan books, assessments, progress reports and required paperwork.
- Maintaining professionalism, punctuality, reliability and flexibility.
- Communicating effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
- Growing as a professional through continuous reflection and required training.
- Responding to supervision and feedback.
- Supporting teacher assistants with direction and decision‑making.
- Working a flexible schedule following a 4‑month rotating 8‑hour shift (7:00 am–5:30 pm).
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
- RIDE teaching certificate in Early Childhood Education.
- At least 3 months of supervised early childhood teaching experience.
- Ability to obtain Level II RIELS certificate.
- Fluent in English; ability to read, write and use basic computer programs.
- Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Reasoning ability to recognize problems and recommend solutions.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain).
- Must be able to lift or move up to 40 pounds.
- Exposure to varying temperatures due to heating and air‑conditioning.
Full‑time.
Salary$50,000 to $63,000 Per Year.
