Pre-K Teacher

The Early Childhood Pre‑K Teacher is responsible for planning and implementing the classroom curriculum, activities, instructional strategies and classroom management in a RI Pre‑kindergarten funded classroom. Responsibilities include working with a teaching assistant to ensure a rich learning environment that fosters cognitive, physical, social and emotional development of young children; providing individualized approaches to meet diverse learning styles; incorporating authentic assessment practices;

and building a collaborative relationship with families.

• Planning and documenting work, completing plan books, assessments, progress reports and required paperwork.

• Supporting teacher assistants with direction and decision‑making.
• Working a flexible schedule following a 4‑month rotating 8‑hour shift (7:00 am–5:30 pm).

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
• RIDE teaching certificate in Early Childhood Education.
• At least 3 months of supervised early childhood teaching experience.
• Ability to obtain Level II RIELS certificate.

• Fluent in English; ability to read, write and use basic computer programs.
• Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Reasoning ability to recognize problems and recommend solutions.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain).

• Must be able to lift or move up to 40 pounds.

• Exposure to varying temperatures due to heating and air‑conditioning.

Full‑time.

$50,000 to $63,000 Per Year.
