Maestro Music Professionals is seeking a part-time instrumental and vocal instructor who will deliver engaging, student-centered music lessons to classes in an on-site setting located in the Greater Providence area. This contract role involves planning and teaching lessons, assessing student progress, and adapting instruction to different ages, skill levels, and learning styles. You will be responsible for preparing instructional materials, demonstrating proper technique, and providing constructive feedback to help students meet their musical goals.
Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with the Maestro team on scheduling and curriculum guidelines, maintaining clear communication with students and families, and upholding a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment.
- Strong foundation in Music Theory and general Music knowledge to support structured, skills-based instruction.
- Demonstrated Music Performance skills, ideally with experience performing solo or in ensembles.
- Background in Music Education, including experience teaching lessons, classes, or workshops.
- Clear, respectful communication skills and the ability to work effectively with learners of diverse backgrounds.
- Experience creating lesson plans, setting learning objectives, and assessing student progress.
- Ability to manage classroom time, maintain a positive learning environment, and adapt to varied learning styles.
- Availability to teach on-site in Providence, RI; prior teaching or tutoring experience in music is strongly preferred.
- Relevant degree, diploma, or certification in music, music education, or a related field is beneficial.
