Position: Digital Media Program Facilitator for Summer Teen Drop-in Program

Job Summary

The Digital Media Program Facilitator is responsible for designing and leading daily, engaging, and informal technology-based activities for teen members of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Providence in a drop-in summer environment. This role fosters a creative and safe tech lounge atmosphere where teens can develop skills in various forms of content creation, such as short-form videos, digital photography, graphic design, digital art and more.

Join with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Providence in creating an inspiring summer experience that sparks curiosity and nurtures talent! This role is perfect for passionate educators, artists, technologists, or youth advocates eager to make a difference through innovative programming.

Work Schedule

Monday through Thursday from July 6 through August 13, 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM (20 hours per week). Pre-program training days June 24, 25, 26 (hours to be determined). No program on August 10.

Pay

$17.00/hour

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement daily drop-in activities in various forms of digital content creation.
  • Actively engage with teens, providing mentorship and supporting youth-led digital learning projects in a relaxed, drop-in setting.
  • Guide teens in using digital tools to express their creativity, tell their stories, and build a digital portfolio.
  • Ensure safety, supervision, and positive behavior management, following Boys & Girls Club policies and procedures.
  • Encourage a culture of inclusion and respect.
  • Manage, organize and maintain BGCP digital media equipment, ensuring it is secured and available for use.
Requirements
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma required; some college preferred; advanced training in digital media technology preferred.
  • At least two years of previous experience working with teens in a school, camp, youth development or informal education setting.
  • Proven experience in lesson planning within digital media or related fields.
  • Proven ability to plan and carry out intended activities to teach and lead teenagers.
  • Proficiency in or strong familiarity with digital tools popular with teens.
  • Excellent behavior management skills, with the ability to motivate diverse groups of youth.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport and accountability.
  • Ability to adapt activities for participants with special education needs or behavioral challenges.
  • Creative mindset with an enthusiasm for exploring new digital tools and artistic mediums.
  • Must successfully clear through pre-employment background checks, including but not limited to: national, state and local background checks (including fingerprinting), RI State BCI, RI DCYF, drug screen (for illegal drugs), references, previous employment verifications, etc.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment training requirements.
