Assistant/Associate/Professor Operations Management
The IACBE-accredited School of Business at Rhode Island College invites applications for an open‑rank, tenure‑track faculty position in Operations Management. The successful candidate will teach a variety of operations- and management-related courses—operations management, project management, supply chain management, process management, service operations, and quality assurance— and may have opportunities to teach additional management courses within the liberal arts setting.
Eligibility Requirements- Earned master’s degree or equivalent and currently pursuing a terminal degree (Ph.D. or D.B.A.) that is not yet completed by the date of appointment.
- Full authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
- Availability to arrange for an official transcript of highest degree earned to be mailed or transmitted directly from the awarding institution to Rhode Island College upon hire.
- Teach three courses per semester (fall and spring), with small class sizes (10–30 students) to facilitate interaction.
- Advise up to 30 students, guiding them through their management programs.
- Conduct scholarly research leading to publications in peer‑reviewed journals and engage in departmental service activities.
- Perform any additional duties assigned by the Department Chair.
- Demonstrate good teaching skills, comprehensive knowledge of operations management, and the enthusiasm to impart this knowledge to undergraduate students.
- Collaborate collegially with other faculty members in the School of Business.
Required Qualifications: Ph.D. or D.B.A. in Operations Management or a related field, or ABD with a credible plan to complete the dissertation within two years.
- Teaching experience at the college level.
- Industry experience in an asset‑based environment.
- Interest in both teaching and researching.
- Ability to teach in‑person, hybrid, or online formats as directed by the chair and/or dean.
