Position: Assistant Professor, MSW Program (1-Year Limited)

Rhode Island College invites applications for a full-time, 1-Year Assistant Professor, MSW Program.

The position is responsible for teaching in the MSW Program, with a focus on social work practice, generalist practice, policy, and seminar courses. The faculty member will support student success through academic advisement, field internship liaison responsibilities, and facilitation of field seminars. The position also includes engagement in scholarly research, professional development, community service, and curriculum development. The faculty member will contribute to departmental and college activities and collaborate with colleagues to advance the mission of the MSW Program.

Overall, the position supports the preparation of skilled, ethical, and socially responsive social work professionals through teaching, mentorship, scholarship, and service.

Rhode Island College is a regional comprehensive public college that serves approximately 6,600 undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students through its five schools: the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, the Feinstein School of Education and Human Development, the School of Business, the School of Nursing and the School of Social Work. Required Qualifications
  • MSW degree from CSWE-accredited institution.
  • At least two years post-MSW social work clinical practice experience in working with historically marginalized communities.
