Project Manager -Drinking Water in Providence

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a background in drinking water design to lead and manage water system projects throughout New England.

• Manages project implementation with assigned project team and follows all company policies and operating procedures, keeping the client informed of project status and providing management, advice, and support to the project team members.
• Initiates projects by developing proposals, scopes of work, and project budgets for approval, and completes project initiation documents including detailed scope, budget, and schedule.
• Supervises and directs technical staff on projects, assists in training and technical development of staff through seminars, guidance, and in‑house technical development.
• Consults with technical staff and other Project Managers on drinking‑water challenges and provides independent technical reviews for other water discipline leaders.
• Oversees technical accuracy of projects through regular communication, review of plans, specifications, reports, and calculations to ensure compliance with firm standards.
• Tracks all project costs, including labor and expenses, versus the project and ensures that invoices are issued to the client timely in accordance with company policy.
• Other tasks may include proposal preparation, participating in project interviews, attending public meetings, developing proposals, preparing contracts, and presenting information to new and future potential clients.

• Bachelor of Science in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or related Engineering discipline with 9+ years of drinking‑water design experience, including project management; or a master’s degree with 8+ years of related experience.
• Registered Professional Engineer or other professional registrations appropriate for primary field of expertise in states where the firm works, or ability to obtain the same.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with clients, staff, subconsultants and contractors through leadership and strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong understanding of state and federal regulatory framework and experience interacting with regulators in local and technical areas where the firm works.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong desire to manage and mentor junior staff.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
