Electrical Utility Infrastructure Manager

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.

About the Role

CBRE's Global Workplace Solutions is seeking a technically grounded electrical utility infrastructure manager to lead power due diligence, utility engagement, and electrical infrastructure solutioning for a large-scale e-commerce client. This is a hands-on technical role responsible for site-level power assessments, utility strategy, easement analysis, and translating grid-level constraints into actionable real estate decisions. You will serve as the primary technical interface between client regional leadership, utility providers, and internal project teams.

Power

& Utility Due Diligence

Drive power availability assessments across prospective sites, including load letter requests, substation capacity research, service territory analysis, and utility portal coordination. Evaluate upstream infrastructure constraints, interconnection lead times, and distribution upgrade requirements for sites with limited available capacity. Compile and standardize utility responses, engineering feedback, and capacity confirmations into structured due diligence packages. Track inquiry status across a concurrent portfolio of active sites, proactively surfacing delays and data gaps.

Easements

& Real Property Rights

Review and analyze utility easements, right-of-way agreements, and access agreements for encumbrances, restrictions, and legal conflicts. Coordinate with title companies, surveyors, and legal counsel through the full easement resolution process. Maintain a portfolio-level easement tracker and prepare redlines and technical summaries for legal and senior team review.

Utility Engagement & Coordination

Serve as the day-to-day technical liaison with utility account managers, right-of-way teams, and municipal contacts across active markets. Manage pre-application meetings, site visits, and utility coordination calls. Maintain structured contact databases and engagement logs to support consistent, market-wide relationship continuity.

Reporting & Documentation

Produce clear, technically rigorous due diligence summaries and project status reports for internal stakeholders. Own project trackers, site timelines, and documentation libraries. Develop and maintain standardized templates and checklists that improve consistency and reduce cycle time across the due diligence workflow.

What You'll Need

5-7 years or more of direct experience in utility design & coordination, electrical engineering for large scale infrastructure, and/or power & energy expertise. A background in electrical engineering, utility design & planning, and/or transmission and distribution operations is strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to interpret utility infrastructure data, assess substation and feeder capacity, and evaluate interconnection or service extension feasibility. Familiarity with utility easements, real property rights, and right-of-way documentation.

Strong command of publicly available utility data, AI tools, and project tracking software.

Preferred Qualifications

Working knowledge of ISO/RTO market structures (PJM, ERCOT, CAISO, MISO, NYISO, ISO-NE, SPP) and their implications for large commercial load acquisition. Hands-on exposure to DER technologies including solar, battery storage, and backup generation in a real estate or energy project context. Experience supporting occupier services or tenant representation transactions with a utility or infrastructure component. Track record managing concurrent due diligence work streams across multi-market portfolios.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for this position is $125,000 annually and the maximum salary for this position is $175,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates may also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program.
