Project Manager – Federal Environmental Remediation
Worked from Providence, Rhode Island office on a hybrid basis (average 3 days a week in office).
Responsibilities- Familiar with project invoicing and cash flow management.
- Manages and directs professional and technical staff to complete complex environmental projects.
- Leads teams by utilizing advanced scientific principles, theories, and practices.
- Utilizes existing technologies and past experience to develop technical solutions to complex problems.
- Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
- Analyzes financial statements and completes budget tracking.
- Performs work with minimal direction with periodic reporting to area manager.
- Oversees the preparation of work plans and organizes project studies.
- Performs complex assignments often requiring development of unique solutions with support of the project team.
- Supervises junior and mid-level staff during all phases of project work.
- Conducts reviews and provides staff feedback for continued improvement.
- BA/BS in Geology, Engineering, or related field with +4 years relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
- Due to nature of work, sponsorship for this role will not be available at this time or in the future.
- Candidate must be a US Citizen or permanent resident.
- Professional License (PE, PG).
- 10+ years’ experience in environmental remediation (soil, water, sediment, PFAS, munitions) project management.
- Master’s degree in Geology, Environmental, Civil, or Chemical Engineering, or related degree.
- Experience with regulator and stakeholder negotiations.
- Experience successfully managing environmental projects for Federal clients (USACE, AFCEC, Navy).
- Thorough working knowledge of RCRA and CERCLA.
- Detail oriented with strong organizational and communication skills (verbal & written).
- Experience in team management and scheduling of staff and resources to ensure on-time and on-budget project delivery.
- Superior communication, writing, editing, and reporting skills for a wide variety of audiences.
- Experience preparing proposals, cost estimates, schedules, and change orders.
- Interest in business development.
- Experience leading teams of professionals in executing Site Investigations, Remedial Investigations, Feasibility Studies, Risk Assessment, and Treatability Studies for Federal environmental projects.
- Occasional overnight travel required.
Annual salary range: $115,000 – $140,000.
