Overview
Accounting Practitioner-Payroll is a critical member of the Finance Team/Payroll Department, reporting to the Payroll Supervisor. This role is responsible for all daily activities relating to the payroll process, including auditing and processing of manual checks, voids, reissues, direct deposits, and termination payments. You will be assigned workflows to ensure all timecards, employee and payroll transactions are processed timely and accurately.
This role will sit primarily in the office.

Responsibilities- Maintain payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering payroll data
- Process multi-state payroll, check printing, reconciliation, and distribution, including resolving discrepancies
- Perform post-payroll reconciliations and reporting
- Provide excellent customer service when answering employee and business partner payroll inquiries
- Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping confidential information
- Follow policies and procedures to maintain payroll operations and report needed changes
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team; contribute to team effort by achieving related results
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment supporting multiple priorities
- Act as backup for other team members as needed
- High School Diploma;
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in business or accounting preferred - Proven experience in a payroll position in a fast-paced environment
- Strong knowledge of tax and wage laws
- Exceptional analytical, multitasking, and organizational skills
- Able to work effectively with minimal supervision
- Experience with in-house payroll processing
- ADP and/or CMiC experience a plus
- Multi-state union and non-union with year-end/federal/state/local tax exposure
- Knowledge of union payroll and Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA) a plus
