Next Play CFO is a growing fractional CFO and strategic finance advisory firm founded by an experienced finance executive with a successful track record of leadership across multiple organizations.
Through a combination of strategic CFO advisory services, financial planning and analysis, cash flow management, budgeting, forecasting, and growth planning, Next Play CFO helps business leaders gain financial clarity, improve decision-making, and build scalable businesses. The firm serves as a true strategic partner to its clients, working closely with founders, CEOs, and ownership teams to navigate growth, improve profitability, manage risk, and prepare for significant business milestones, including acquisitions, capital raises, and ownership transitions.
ResponsibilitiesClient Delivery (60%)
- Serve as a lead Fractional CFO and trusted advisor to a portfolio of growth-stage, privately held, and middle-market businesses.
- Lead strategic finance engagements and serve as the primary executive contact on assigned accounts.
- Own budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, KPI development, and financial planning processes.
- Present financial insights and recommendations to CEOs, Boards, investors, lenders, and ownership groups.
- Actively contribute to revenue growth through personal business development efforts.
- Conduct outreach through Linked In, networking, referrals, industry associations, events, and targeted prospecting.
- Build and maintain relationships with CEOs, CFOs, private equity professionals, lenders, attorneys, bankers, and other referral partners.
- Generate and manage a pipeline of qualified opportunities.
- Develop and scale a high-performing client delivery organization.
- Manage, mentor, and develop CFOs, FP&A professionals, analysts, and contractors.
- Review work products to ensure quality, consistency, and strategic value.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in finance, FP&A, CFO advisory, consulting, or executive finance leadership.
- Proven ability to lead client relationships at the executive level.
- Demonstrated experience managing and developing teams.
- Strong financial planning, forecasting, capital management, and operational finance expertise.
- Business development experience with a track record of generating or expanding revenue.
