Job Description Position PurposeThis position is for a Senior Biostatistician within Survey Qualitative and Applied Data (SQuAD) at the Brown University School of Public Health. The Senior Biostatistician is a specialist that organizes, analyzes, and interprets data from living organisms. They work mainly with data gathered via medical and behavioral research, which they use to formulate conclusions and make predictions.
Education and ExperienceMaster's Degree and three (3) to five (5) years of experience or PhD and one(1) to three(3) years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Job Competencies- Advanced R, SAS and/or STATA programming knowledge, skills and experience.
- Proficiency in SPSS will be helpful but is not necessary.
- Excellent computer skills:
Microsoft Word, Creation of charts & graphs using Microsoft Excel and Power Point, and analysis of data. - Knowledge of biostatistics, the health care system, and public health
- Experience with handling, managing, manipulating, and/or analyzing routinely collected health data
- Advanced data management and analysis abilities.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent judgement and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Leadership and supervision experience preferred.
This is a hybrid eligible position.
This is a fixed term position with a current end date of 3/31/2027, which may be extended based upon available funding.
