Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM); rotating nights/days; every other weekend required
Job Responsibilities- Provide respiratory care services in Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department settings.
- Perform airway management including direct intubation, intubation assist, extubation, oral/nasal airway placement and suctioning, endotracheal suctioning, pulmonary hygiene, sputum specimen collection, and tracheostomy care/management.
- Manage ventilators (Servo I required), BiPAP, CPAP, HFNC, troubleshoot high-pressure alarms, and assist with weaning from mechanical ventilation.
- Administer respiratory medications including Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, inhaled steroids, Isuprel, Lidocaine, Perforomist, Pulmicort, Racemic Epinephrine, Spiriva, Terbutaline Sulfate, Tobramycin, Xopenex; preferred experience with Bicarbonate, Inhaled Flolan, Ketamine, Mucomyst, Nitric Oxide (NO), Theophylline.
- Set up and manage medication delivery systems: aerosol mask/trach setup, MDI, Medihaler, handheld nebulizer, T-piece, trach collar.
- Provide oxygen therapy and support trauma/end-tidal CO2 monitoring.
- Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs).
- Care for patients with COPD, asthma, critical care, emergency conditions; preferred exposure to neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents.
- Document electronically (Meditech preferred).
- Minimum 1 year experience.
- Rhode Island State License (pending accepted; must be active prior to start).
- BLS certification.
- CRT credential required.
- RRT credential preferred.
- Experience with Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department patients.
- Experience with Servo I ventilators.
