Biostatistician
This is a Biostatistician position within the Survey Qualitative and Applied Data (SQuAD) research core at the Brown University School of Public Health. The Biostatistician role is a specialist that organizes, analyzes, and interprets data from living organisms. They work mainly with data gathered via medical and behavioral research, which they use to formulate conclusions and make predictions.
Education and Experience- Master's Degree and one (1) to three (3) years of experience OR Bachelor's Degree and five (5) to seven (7) years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of the fields of biostatistics, the healthcare system, Public Health.
- Experience with handling, managing, manipulating, and/or analyzing routinely collected health data.
- Advanced programming knowledge, skills, and experience in SAS, R, and/or Stata.
- Data management and manipulation (e.g. derivation of variable, data quality control) experience.
- Experience implementing and familiarity with standard statistical techniques for RCTs and observational studies, including testing for association, regression, mediation, moderation, survival analysis, and basic study design.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent computer skills:
Microsoft Word, Creation of charts & graphs using Microsoft Excel and Power Point, and analysis of data. - Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- High degree of professionalism, confidentiality and discretion; proven ability to apply good judgement and responsible decision making.
This is a hybrid eligible position. This is a fixed term position with a current end date of 3/31/2027, which may be extended based upon available funding. All offers of employment are contingent upon a criminal background check and education verification satisfactory to Brown University.
