SUMMARY

Reporting to the System Director of Nursing Operations, the Nursing Materials & Logistics System is highly organized and serves as a pivotal liaison between Supply Chain and Nursing Operations, ensuring seamless coordination and strategic alignment across all inpatient care environments. This role provides comprehensive oversight of clinical equipment management and actively partners with clinical leaders and subject matter experts to coordinate the tracking and lifecycle management of supplies and replacement equipment, ensuring timely communication, alignment, and transparency across stakeholders regarding product updates, availability, and changes.

Through this collaborative approach, the role helps maintain operational readiness and alignment across inpatient nursing services. The Nursing Materials & Logistics System proactively ensures that nursing operations are equipped with the right tools and technologies to support safe, efficient, and high-quality care delivery.

In addition to supply chain integration, the Nursing Materials & Logistics System orchestrates supportive functions for the Patient Care Services Department, fostering collaboration with key departments such as Facilities, Central Sterile Distribution (CSD), and Biomedical Engineering.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Serves as a highly organized and detail-oriented leader, ensuring consistency and standardization of supplies across the health system.

Ensures accurate and timely processing of orders through the organization's financial management platform.

Coordinates timely ordering and delivery of requested items, minimizing delays in patient care support.

Communicates changes in product availability, replacements, and new product introductions to appropriate stakeholders across the system.

Evaluates workflows and identifies opportunities to streamline processes by eliminating non-value-added steps and reducing waste.

Collaborates with the System Director of Nursing Operations on capital budget planning for Patient Care Services.

Prepares and maintains a variety of confidential reports and documents.

Performs other duties as assigned to support the operational and strategic goals of Brown University Health.

EDUCATION

Requires a bachelor's degree in a healthcare related field.

EXPERIENCE

Requires a minimum of 2 years' hospital experience including leadership responsibility in a patient or healthcare setting.

Knowledge of medical terminology required.

Must have experience with evaluating and creating or revising workflows to gain optimal efficiency.

Must be highly organized with the ability to effectively multi-task and problem solve.

Requires the interpersonal skills to interface with vendors, employees, nursing personnel and other departments to exchange information and resolve problems.

Requires the conceptual ability to identify and resolve routine problems within areas of responsibility.

Ability to coordinate efficient workflows and the ability to exercise independent judgment and demonstrate effective communication skills.

Services Departments. Assists to maintain the capital budget database.
