Job Title: Program Manager (Mental health Training School/Education Plan)

Duration: 06+ months
Pay Rate: $41.00 /hr on W2

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Client is committed to continuing the work with the Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) through project AWARE, to provide technical assistance and increase the capacity of Local education Authorities (LEA) to promote the continued success of the AWARE program.
- Focus towns are Warwick, Newport, Chariho, East Providence. Duties include the following, in partnership with RIDE,
- Attend the quarterly meetings of the School Health Advisory Council (SHAC) to inform the state level work and attend monthly meetings with SAMHSA and their Government Program Officer (GPO);
- Increase and improve access to culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate and trauma informed school and community-based AWARE grant activities and services.
- Work with school base mental health professionals to assure they can provide early intervention
- Develop the infrastructure to allow the LEA the ability to respond immediately on-site, if a school-aged youth exhibits behavioral signs warranting the need for clinical attention.
- Continue to implement the workforce training plan that increases the mental health awareness and literacy of school staff, administrators, parents, and others who interact with school-aged children/youth;
- Engage in local and state program and process development to support improvements in school-aged youth and family-serving systems through the coordination and integration of funding streams to support programs with similar goals.
- Develop and provide positive behavioral health supports, targeted services to those need more support, and intensive services to those who need them.
- Participate in data collection and evaluation activities.
- Activities could include training mental health first aid, setting up trainings at schools to clarify the role of DCYF and the FCCP's work with RIDE on suicide prevention work, and increase awareness of identifying mental health issues, and promote engagement in mental health services.
Required
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree.
