Providence Public Schools (PPSD) seeks an Certified Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide clinical supervision and mentorship to Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs). We serve approximately 22,000 students across 37 schools. Roughly 55% of our students come from homes where English is not the primary language, representing over 55 languages and 91 countries of origin.

Salary- $48,343 Min.
- $91,123 Max.
A licensed Supervising Speech-Language Pathologist will:
- Provide direct and indirect supervision of one (1) full time Certified Speech Language Pathologist Assistant.
- Maintain records which document the frequency and type of supervision.
This is an itinerant position and may require serving across multiple locations.
RequirementsCandidates must:
- Hold a valid RI Department of Health SLP license.
- Have been actively working in the field for twenty-four (24) months after completion of postgraduate professional experience.
- Have completed a minimum of two (2) hours of professional development in clinical instruction / supervision.
It is preferred that Candidates have:
- Experience working with students with moderate to severe disabilities.
- Experience working with students at the preschool, elementary, middle, and/or high school levels.
- Experience working in a school setting.
The Speech Language Pathologist Assistant Supervisor will:
- Ensure that the support personnel are assigned only those duties and responsibilities for which the person has been specifically trained and which the assistant is qualified to perform.
- Ensure that persons who will be receiving services from support personnel, or the person’s legal representative, are informed that services are being rendered by support personnel.
- Adhere to applicable licensure laws and rules regulating the practice of speech-language pathology.
- Conduct ongoing competency evaluations of the SLPA.
- Accurately document and regularly record all supervisory activities, both direct and indirect.
- Develop, review, and modify treatment plans for students, patients, and clients that the SLPA implements under the SLP’s supervision.
- Make all case management decisions.
- Adhere to the supervisory responsibilities for SLPs.
