Special Procedures Technician
Summary: Utilizes radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment to obtain high quality diagnostic images in a timely manner for the efficient operation of the Interventional Radiology Department.
Education: High school diploma plus satisfactory completion of two years of formal training in an approved school of Radiologic Technology. Must be ARRT certified and licensed by the State of Rhode Island. In addition, must also be CPR certified or obtain it within 3 months from date of hire.
Experience: A minimum of 2 years Interventional Radiography experience preferred.
Working Conditions, Physical Environment and/or Safety Requirements
:
Works in a clean, well-lit, well-ventilated area. May be exposed to electrical and radiant energy and to unpleasant physical conditions of patients. Stands, walks and lifts (medium to heavy weights) most of the day. The possibility of exposure to blood and bodily fluids does exist in this work environment. Hospital safety training is required annually to reduce the risk of exposure.
