Job SummaryThe Providence Center Mobile Crisis Clinician CCBHC works with a multidisciplinary team, providing behavioral health and crisis assessment at The Providence Center and in the community.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesConduct level of care and crisis assessments, including suicide risk and danger to others, to clients and non-clients in a variety of settings including homes, shelters, street outreach, etc. This includes responses to active police / fire scenes that may arise in accordance with required safety protocols.
Conduct comprehensive initial psychosocial assessments and mental status examinations.
Use psychiatric consultation and determine appropriate levels of care within the continuum.
Apply knowledge of psychiatric diagnoses, as outlined in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition, Text Revision (DSM-5-TR), in clinical practice.
Collaborate with the care team, other providers, and community agencies to coordinate care.
Provide evaluations and monthly reporting requirements to external agencies.
Attend team meetings and case reviews to share updates and collaboratively address client challenges.
Conduct home visits and community outreach to support clients in their natural environments.
Maintain accurate, detailed, and timely records of all client interactions and services provided, including clinical documentation as required.
Ensure compliance with agency policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
Foster cooperative relationships with staff, clients, and community partners.
Attend trainings, case presentations and conferences.
Serve on committees and participate in agency initiatives as assigned.
Perform other duties as assigned to support client goals and program needs.
RequirementsMaster's Degree Required
Field of Study:
Social Work, Counseling or related field
Experience in Human Services field preferred
Rhode Island licensure preferred (not required): LICSW or LMHC
Must have valid driver's license, registration, current inspection sticker and insured auto.
Eligible for Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) designation
- Manual dexterity and mobility required. While performing the major responsibilities of this position, the incumbent must be able to regularly sit, stand or walk, and occasionally reach for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to lift, push, move and/or carry supplies or equipment up to 25 pounds, and occasionally be able to bend, stoop, crouch or kneel.
- This position may be based at various Center locations, community or client home settings.
Knowledge and understanding of the characteristics of individuals with mental health issues, their families, and family systems.
Experience with various treatment modalities, including evidence-based therapies and standardized tools such as PHQ-9, C-SSRS, etc.
Skilled in crisis assessment, risk management, and de‑escalation.
Ability to maintain professionalism and calm demeanor during emergencies.
Knowledge of community resources.
Proficiency in documentation and electronic record‑keeping systems, including ability to document in electronic medical records.
Capable of working collaboratively with community partners and in a team environment.
Excellent organizational, problem‑solving, and time‑management skills.
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to convey information clearly and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, representatives from outside agencies and the public.
Ability to build rapport and establish trust with diverse individuals and community partners.
