Environmental Services Project Worker

Service and Trade Full Time regular (64-80 hrs) , 1st Shift , 7:00 am - 3:30 pm

Summary:

Maintains a safe and clean environment for patients, visitors, and staff by providing deep cleaning services. Transports patients and supplies as needed. Provides relief for Environmental Services Associates. Assists with supplying/removing linen supplies, medical waste, and chemotherapy waste.

Education:

High School diploma and extensive experience in all aspects of Environmental Services Procedures preferred.

Experience:

One to two years in a health care setting preferred. Ability to perform special tasks including operation of equipment necessary for maintaining all types of floor surfaces.

Working Conditions, Physical Environment and/or Safety Requirements:
Ability to stand, sit, walk, reach, and climb stairs and ladders without restriction. Ability to lift between 40-80 pounds using good body mechanics. Must be able to push/pull heavy equipment, beds, stretchers, and wheelchairs. Exposed to all patient care elements within the hospital setting including medical waste, hazardous waste, and the risk of needle punctures. Meets all safety requirements as required by the Medical Center.
