Hotel Manager
The Hotel Manager is responsible for continually focusing on achieving hotel profitability through revenue generation, cost control, guest satisfaction and developing employees training and engagement, while maintaining the integrity of the hotel.
Responsibilities include participating in hotel sales efforts, touring operating departments, conducting staff meetings, ensuring proper training and review of financials, goals and operational performance, attending operational line ups, meeting financial review dates, holding monthly financial reviews, ensuring budgeted productivity levels, developing managers, participating in required M.O.D. coverage, maintaining the effectiveness of the Lobby Ambassador program, developing management trainees, adhering to all Highgate Hotel policies and procedures, overseeing budget and forecast processes, ensuring training in service standards, ensuring payroll procedure compliance, ensuring PCI compliance protocol, assisting in creating a positive team-oriented environment, inspecting rooms regularly, ensuring complete processing of invoices, ensuring receipt of financial documents, ensuring cleanliness and maintenance of the physical property, ensuring attentive, friendly, courteous and efficient interactions with guests and employees, forecasting the hotel's financial position, preparing and conducting operational management interviews, interviewing prospective final candidates, performing department manager performance appraisals, motivating, coaching, counseling and disciplining management personnel, performing any other duties as requested, ensuring fair and equitable treatment of employees, meeting clients on the property, being in public areas during peak times, ensuring procedures for handling of the hotel safe, conducting monthly credit meetings, completing required corporate training modules, ensuring scheduled meetings take place, and conducting daily W meeting in conjunction with the Director of Sales.
Qualifications include at least 6 years progressive experience in a hotel or a related field, Bachelor's Degree preferred, maintaining a warm and friendly demeanor, effective communication skills, multitasking and prioritization, attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner, attendance at all hotel required meetings and trainings, participation in M.O.D. coverage, regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards, maintaining high standards of personal appearance and grooming, compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations, maximizing efforts towards productivity, problem handling, understanding and evaluating complex information, maintaining confidentiality, light work physical requirements, and performing other duties as requested by management.
