Senior Project Manager

The City of Providence, Rhode Island is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead a major enterprise ERP replacement initiative
. The City is currently operating on Infor/Lawson S3
, with vendor support expected to end around 2030. This role will play a critical leadership function in evaluating, selecting, and implementing a new ERP solution, which has not yet been chosen.

This is a long-term, three-year contract requiring full onsite presence in Providence, RI. The selected candidate will work closely with multiple City departments and senior stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of this high-visibility program.

• Organize, lead, and coordinate project teams across multiple City departments for a large-scale ERP replacement initiative
• Lead the end-to-end public sector ERP RFP process
  , including:
• Assisting with RFP development and documentation
• Coordinating and managing vendor communications
• Managing RFP responses within established timelines
• Representing the City’s interests throughout the vendor evaluation process
• Scheduling and facilitating vendor demonstrations
• Managing final vendor selection and contract award
• Oversee and support the implementation of the selected ERP platform
• Establish and manage project plans, milestones, timelines, risks, and deliverables
• Ensure adherence to project governance, reporting, and compliance requirements
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all organizational levels, including City leadership
• Provide clear status updates, issue tracking, and risk mitigation strategies

• Proven experience managing multiple large-scale enterprise software implementation projects
• Hands-on experience with systems supporting one or more of the following functional areas:
• Human Resources
• Benefits Administration
• Finance
• Budgeting
• Accounts Payable
• Payroll
• Demonstrated ability to organize and lead cross-functional teams across City departments
• Strong experience in public sector RFP development and management
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels of City government
• Strong organizational, planning, and time-management skills with a deadline-driven mindset

• Experience leading ERP replacement or modernization initiatives in the public sector
• Familiarity with Infor/Lawson S3 or similar ERP platforms
• Experience working with municipal or state government agencies
