Associate Director of Masters Admissions Systems

Position offered by Brown University at the School of Professional Studies. This role is responsible for managing the admissions system (Slate) across 45+ master’s and professional programs. The Associate Director will serve as the primary architect and strategic lead for the system’s technical health and innovation, collaborating with IT, Finance, Registrar, Graduate School, and other academic units.

Responsibilities

The Associate Director of Admissions Systems (Slate Captain) serves as the primary architect and strategic lead for management of admissions systems for the Division of Master's and Professional Programs across campus. The role involves the technical health and innovation of the CRM (Slate) across 45+ master’s programs and executive education portfolios, creating system solutions. Working closely with leadership, the individual is responsible for functional and technical management of Slate and its interface with the University’s student information system (Banner).

The Associate Director will collaborate with Brown departments including the Office of Information Technology, Financial Aid, the Registrar, the Graduate School, and Brown's academic schools and departments to support master's and executive education enrollment functions. The person will represent the division in campus‑wide meetings and regional and national technology conferences and serve as the primary technical contact with the vendor Technolutions.

The Slate Captain drives the long‑term technical roadmap, overseeing annual cycle transitions, one‑time program launches, system upgrades, and the integration of emerging technologies to ensure a world‑class experience for applicants, faculty and staff. This position requires a visionary approach to system architecture, balancing diverse departmental needs with a unified, scalable infrastructure.

Qualifications

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in admissions systems or equivalent experience
  • Expert-level knowledge of Technolutions Slate (Rules, Configurable Joins, Portals)
Preferred Experience
  • Experience developing and providing training to diverse populations of users
  • Experience translating data and business process needs between end users and technical staff
  • Experience with SQL, HTML, and CSS to customize queries, reports, forms, portals, and dashboards in Slate, and a desire to increase proficiency
